On Holy Thursday, March 27th, Bishop Kevin Sweeney, Bishop of Paterson, celebrated Mass for the incarcerated at the Morris County Jail in Morristown, New Jersey. He was assisted by New Jersey Area Chaplains Rev. Own Moran, Rev. Phillip-Michael Tangora, and Rev. Alex Nevitt. As part of the traditional Holy Thursday service, Bishop Sweeney washed the feet of 12 inmates.
Also attending this Mass were the Sheriff, Under Sheriff, and Warden, as well as many of the jail staff, representing many different faith traditions. This was the third consecutive year Bishop Sweeney has traveled to this facility to support New Jersey Malta’s Prison Ministry.
