Members of the Order of Malta in the Boston Area hosted three special gatherings for the feast day of Saint John the Baptist.
The first, held on Cape Cod at Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Osterville, MA, was celebrated by Rev. Brian Kiley, ChM with Deacon Richard Murphy. Deacon Murphy will be invested as a Deputy Deacon Chaplain in November. A dinner, hosted by Mercedes Riley, DM, the Oyster Harbors Club in Osterville followed Mass.
Members in Boston attended a Mass at St. Clement’s Eucharistic Shrine in Boston’s historic Back Bay. Fr. Jack Ahern, ChD was the celebrant. After Mass, members and guests were invited by Newcomb Stillwell, KM, Chair of the Board of the Massachusetts Historical Society for a reception and presentation on fascinating items of interest on the early history of the Catholic Church in Boston as well as the Order of Malta.
