NYC Area Participates in Lenten Holy Hour and Spiritual Reflections

03/27/2025

On Tuesday, March 25th, the NYC Area participated in a Lenten Holy Hour and Spiritual Reflections service. The service was held in the Lady Chapel of St. Patrick’s Cathedral and Rev. Gerald E. Murray, ChM, JCD was the celebrant.

The service began with Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. This was followed by Spiritual Reflections preached by Fr. Murray. Fr. Murray noted that Tuesday was the Feast of the Annunciation and his reflections incorporated verses from the Responsorial Psalm from that day’s Mass, including “ears open to obedience you gave me” and “to do your will, O my God, is my delight”. Fr. Murray also noted how members of the Order of Malta should follow Mary’s example of dedication to serving Jesus Christ, through our defense of the Faith and our service to the sick and the poor.

Following these reflections, Camille Kelleher, DM and Erin O’Kane, YOF led the recitation of the Holy Rosary, while attendees had an opportunity for the Sacrament of Penance. The service concluded with a final Benediction.

We thank Fr. Murray for leading this beautiful service and for his inspirational and spiritually thought-provoking reflections during this Lenten season.
