On Monday July 7th, Knights, Dames, Auxiliary and Affiliates of the New York City Area gathered for their First Monday Mass at Our Lady Chapel at St. Patrick’s Cathedral. The Mass was celebrated by Fr. Cavoto, OFM, ChM.

In his homily, Fr. Cavoto talked about how in the Gospel, Jesus tells the people not to mourn the death of the little girl because she is not dead but sleeping. Fr. Cavoto talked about how in times of mourning or in tragedy, we must not lose hope in Jesus. He emphasized how even in tragic times, the Order of Malta is always there to help those in need and to show the spirit of the Gospel to others.

Following the Mass, a few attendees gathered for fellowship at a local establishment.
