On June 27th, Michigan Area members prepared and served lunch to those in need at St. Leo’s Soup Kitchen in Detroit.
Organized by Michigan Area Hospitaller Kathleen Mastrangelo, DM, teams of Michigan Area volunteers work at the soup kitchen on the second and fourth Fridays of each month (and on fifth Fridays when they occur). Located in the People’s Community Church, St. Leo’s Soup Kitchen serves about 30,000 lunches annually to the hungry, isolated, and lonely in the community.
Volunteering at the June 27 lunch service were Carolyn Andree, DM; David Closs, KM; Noel Closs, KM; Associate Rana Jamil; John Juriga, KM; and Chris Rutkowski, KM. Lunch included spaghetti bolognese, Caesar’s salad, garlic toast, mixed vegetables, and dessert.
