On Thursday December 5, the NYC Area held its 2nd Annual Toy Drive for the children and young adults of Mother Cabrini Specialty Hospital at Joanne Trattoria on the Upper West Side. The evening was filled with the Christmas spirit of giving, laughter, song, fellowship, and pasta.
Donors filled boxes with toys and other gifts, many that are sensory stimulating and will be used in recreational therapy classes at Mother Cabrini, whose residents have neurological impairments and other complex medical conditions. The NYC Area Mobile Ministry Van transported the gifts to Mother Cabrini after the event. The Toy Drive was organized by James Palazza, YOF. James gave remarks welcoming the guests and introducing ArchCare CEO Scott LaRue, KM. Scott thanked the donors and recognized the wonderful care and affection that the Mother Cabrini staff (many in attendance) provide for the children and young adult residents.
Joanne Trattoria owner, Joe Germanotta, provided delicious Italian fare, including calamari, arancini, meatballs, and pasta. Joe also arranged for two talented young singers to entertain our guests.
