Order of Malta

For over 900 years, the Order of Malta has remained faithful to a simple mission: the defense of the faith and service to the poor and sick. A lay religious order of the Catholic Church, the Order is active in 120 countries caring for people in need through its medical, social and humanitarian works.

In New York City, over 180 Knights and Dames work alongside our Affiliates to carry forward this ancient calling through spiritual formation and hands-on service—walking the streets to give food to the homeless, bringing joy to youth with disabilities, and offering companionship to the elderly and isolated.
