2024 Opportunities for Prison Ministry Service for American Association Members

The American Association Prison Ministry Bible Program began over twenty years ago. We have since broadened our service in prisons and jails to include Pen Pal, visitation and re-entry programs. While becoming a Pen Pal is perhaps the best way to begin and understand the complexities and demands of prison ministry, established visitation and re-entry programs exist throughout the American Association’s thirty areas.

Visitation, and especially re-entry, is in need of immediate support from Order members.

Re-entry is also an important and growing prison ministry program throughout the U.S. Members are needed to work with local parishes, non-profit organizations and Archdioceses to provide support for the newly released.

For more information on ‘What is visitation? What is re-entry?,’ please contact PMC co-chair, MJ Kriz, DM at Maryjo.kriz@gmail.com.

Or, you may see the below for list for information on volunteering in an Amer. Assoc. prison ministry program active in a prison or jail in your area and contact your area chair and /or prison ministry leader listed.

Our growing Bible + Materials Distribution Program is also in need of support. Please contact Sandy Trapp, DM (trapp@mac.com) to learn about opportunities in organizing and distributing Bibles to over twenty U.S. prisons and jails.
