The Northeast Wisconsin Area supported the 30th World Day of the Sick by providing hospitality and first aid support at the monthly Mass and Eucharistic Healing Service held at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help.
This event is held on the last Saturday of each month throughout the year, where local members are on hand to assist those pilgrims who come to the Shrine seeking physical, emotional, and spiritual healing. Knights and Dames open the Order of Malta First Aid Station and standby to help anyone in need, greet and visit with pilgrims, and help first-time visitors find their way around.
Members also assist with the scheduled liturgical events, serving at the Mass and the Healing Service, lecturing, and leading the Rosary before Mass. After the Healing Service and Anointing of the Sick, Wisconsin Area members and volunteers serve the pilgrims a complimentary hot lunch.
