Order of Malta Feast Days
Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes and the World Day of the Sick

February 11th is an important day in the life of members of the Order of Malta. In addition to being the feast of Our Lady of Lourdes, it is the annual observance of the World Day of the Sick. Saint Pope John Paul II began the observance of the World Day of the Sick, in conjunction with the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes, to raise the level of awareness of the sick and the role to which Christ calls each of us  – to tend to their needs. For members of the Order of Malta, that is part of our charism in our path to spiritual growth.

Malta Walks

We would like to invite volunteers to meet at St. Patrick’s Cathedral Parish House, 14 E. 51st Street, New York City (please come to the Rectory Door on Madison Ave. near 51st St.). We will make sandwiches and add them to bags which will include winter hats, gloves and socks. We will then head out in small groups to distribute the bags to the homeless. After we are done, which should be around 8:00 PM, we will meet at a pub (exact location TBD) for music and fellowship. To participate, kindly click here to RSVP.

American Association Events
American Association Retreat: Winter 2025

The American Association is holding its next Spiritual Retreat from Friday, February 21 through Sunday February 23, 2025, at the Bethany Retreat Center in Lutz, Florida. Lutz is 25 minutes from Tampa International Airport. Our retreat master, Bishop Frank J. Caggiano, ChC, will be speaking on the theme, “Profiles in Discipleship” basic qualities that a disciple needs to embrace personally to become an agent of renewal in the life of the Church. All members are encouraged to attend; candidates in their year of formation and new members who have not been on an Association’s three-day retreat are particularly encouraged to attend. It is important to recognize that a three-day retreat, such as the Bethany Retreat, is very different from a morning of recollection or a day of reflection. Click here to log in and register.
