On the First Saturday of each month, the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal offer a great service for one’s soul and for the community of  Newburgh, New York.

Schedule:

9:30 AM Rosary followed by Holy Mass

10:45 AM Work Service Project

1:00 PM Bring your own lunch and some to share

2:00 PM Reflections, Holy Hour, Confession/Reconciliation, and Benediction

The day will close at 4:00 PM

Lunch Service at the Welcome Table

Members will provide  prepare and serve lunch at Saint John’s/St. Ann’s Center

Members of the South End of Albany community will be our guests at the Welcome Table (soup kitchen) located at the Center. Volunteers are needed from 11:00 a.m. to about 1:30 pm in this important and fun way to serve our neighbors in need.

Family and friends (including children over age 12) are welcome to join members in this service opportunity. Members are asked to let Peter Maloy, KM (pmaloy@jhmaloy.com, [518] 365-3892) or Joan Kehoe (joankeo8@aol.com, [518]433-9429) know if they will participate.

Malta volunteers serve and share meals with Cor Unum guests on Sunday evenings once a month. Cor Unum is a non-profit meal center in Lawrence, MA. Cor Unum serves hundreds of people every day, with a small core staff and a large army of generous volunteers. Guests include the working poor, the unemployed, the homeless, senior citizens, those living with mental and emotional illness, and individuals of all ages.  Please contact Evie Caron at eviecaron@aol.com.

The Ohio Area will sponsor a White Mass for healthcare givers at St. Peter in Chains Cathedral in Cincinnati. Bishop Joseph Binzer, our chaplain, will celebrate Mass.

Following Mass, there will be a program and reception honoring caregivers in our community for their service to the sick and injured.
