The American Association is excited to participate in the third annual Malta Camp USA – a week-long summer program for young adults with physical and intellectual disabilities! This year’s camp will be taking place at Siena College in Loudonville, NY from June 23-28, 2024. Volunteer with Catholic Charities Brooklyn & Queens
We are pleased to announce that there are several new volunteer opportunities weekdays and Saturdays with Catholic Charities Brooklyn & Queens. Please read to the bottom of this announcement for the new Saturday volunteer opportunities. 55 Pierrepont St., Brooklyn, NY, 11201 Volunteers are needed who are willing to help with the 55 Pierrepont St. Resource Center on Monday and Thursday each week. CCBQ will have a consumer choice food pantry along with the thrift store. Volunteers are needed from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm (select your hours) on those two days. The volunteers will assist in keeping the pantry stocked and assisting the clients so they can move along. The 55 Pierrepont St. Resource Center will also have a kitchen that volunteers can use to make hot meals for the community in need. If CCBQ has a team of volunteers, they will gladly purchase the food needed to make prepared meals for CCBQ clients who live in shelters. It would be helpful, but not required, if volunteers can speak French, Spanish, Arabic or Chinese as well as English. 191 Joralemon St., Brooklyn, NY 11201 Volunteers are needed Tuesday and Wednesday between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM (select your hours) to pack food, toiletries, and clothing for distribution to migrants. Also the volunteers can interact with the migrants and provide them with the food, toiletries, and clothing. Ability to speak Spanish, Creole or French would be very helpful, but not required.
