On Holy Saturday, April 4th, members of the Order of Malta’s Long Island Area hosted a well‑attended event to pack rice into shipping containers for hungry families in Haiti, in partnership with the Friar’s Suppliers. Members in attendance for this volunteer effort were Dominick DeLucia, Richard Birrer, Christine Birrer, Kim Nardo, Ray Nardo, and Michael Erdek.

Boy Scouts joined volunteers in the effort, working side by side to prepare the supplies for distribution.

The Friar’s Suppliers, led by Charlie Moran, is responsible for delivering the rice to Haiti, and through his dedication, thousands of families have been fed.
