2019 Subpriory Retreat

06/03/2019

On May 30th, members of the Subpriory of Our Lady of Lourdes, which is comprised of Members of the Order from both the American and Federal Associations who are either in Obedience or Professed Knights, gathered in Malvern, PA, for their annual weekend retreat. Knights and Dames in Obedience participated in a three-day retreat, while the Professed (Knights of Justice) remained another 2 days to complete their annual obligation for a five-day retreat. This year, the Professed Knights of the Western Association’s Subpriory of Our Lady of Philermos joined with their brother Professed in Malvern to fufill the obligation together as a community of 7 Professed.

Members in Obedience were led by Msgr. James Watkins, chaplain of Our Lady of Lourdes Subpriory, and Fr. Joseph Cavoto, OFM, magistral chaplain; the Professed Knights participated in a separate, parallel retreat track led by Fr. Eric Hollas, OSB, chaplain to the Western Association. Both groups came together daily for prayers & Mass, for meals and for quiet conversations. With 57 in attendance, the retreat house was at full capacity and all agreed, it was perhaps the best retreat yet!

Missing from the picture: Msgr. James Watkins; Fr. Joseph Cavoto, OFM; and Fr. Eric Hollas, OSB.
